MOM: Game 14
Good to be back and up to 11 a-side again… don’t know if it is the lack of playing full pitch but the pitch seemed bigger than Fearnville!

1. Liam D - 2 great goals and fair play for letting sideshows go in!

It was great to be back on full pitch on Sunday and a very competitive game. I felt the colours were unfortunate not to be ahead after the first half with plenty of chances, but the whites kicked on from half time and had a brilliant second half. Good game.
My MOTMs are:
(Totally agree with Andy)
1 - Liam. Magnificent performance and very unselfish to leave Sideshow’s shot to go in rather than nick it.
2 - Joel. I can’t remember his first goal, but his second was a cracker, the keeper (Ant i think) and myself had no chance with the deft touch. Wasn’t sure if it was on purpose at the time but i’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Great to be back, and back at 11 a side.
Very even game and could have gone either way. If we had scored even half af the clear chances that we had we would have won by 5. But you need to score to win (obvious statement of the week).
MOM Votes are:
1) Mini Mill - Playing in the midfield and did a great job, covered a lot of ground and good on the bal.
2) Joel - 2 good goals and posed a threat

I fully agree with the comments made about how good it was to be back playing football and especially so to have a full 22 players.
What I am disappointed by is that despite my wonder strike, which you will recall was made from my own half, I have received not a single comment of commendation for the skill and vision such a strike required. Rather, Liam has received more credit for supposedly not claiming the goal for himself, but obviously such comments are from players who failed to take into account the pace which I had applied to the ball thereby preventing Liam from reaching it.
So in summary I will be voting for my MOTM as follows:-
Sideshow - A great game, covered every blade of the astro-turf pitch and scored a wonderful goal from his own half requiring great ability and vision. Whilst for many the pressure of picking the team and acting as Captain can prove a burden too great, Sideshow performed to a level rarely seen.
Woody - Had a great second half and made many clearances to protect the teams lead. Sideshows decision as Captain to move Woody to left back was inspired and Woody accepted his revised role with grace as was demonstrated by such a fine performance.
Looking forward to Sunday and lets hope that we can once again have a full 22.

1st - liam great game caused r defence loads o problem grabbing 2 goal n protecting tht flooky miss kick that somebody did to make sure his team had a nice lead. onli jokin sideshow good goal.
2nd - sideshow - kinda feel like i have to afer tht big speech he did feelin sorry for im self (jokes) great game from sideshow after a long break off, supplying his attack with numerous well played through balls and even manging to grab one himslef which can onli be described as a wonder goal.
also well done to the captains good to see fair teams picked for 1st game back.
